Port Adelaide Plaza™

The re-development of the shopping centre is under way, a $45 million construction project that will create almost 300 jobs and add significant economic prosperity to the iconic suburb of Port Adelaide. The Centre, which was re branded Port Adelaide Plaza™ shopping centre in April 2019 will expand from 19,000 square metres to over 29,000 square metres with an expected end value of $133 million - making it the most significant retail development of its kind in the local area in 40 years. The Centre (owned and managed by Precision Group) is being extended to accommodate 50+ retailers, including speciality shops, cafes and restaurants, Paisley Park Early Learning and a planned health club and medical centre. The dining precinct currently features Funk food + Cafe, Shanghai Teahouse, Billy Ming, Boneshaker and Yiros Central with Hiro Sushi due to open in December.

Stage 1 was opened in April 2019, welcoming Aldi, Australia Post, Bendigo Bank, The Beauty Bar and more.

Stage 2 is anticipated to open mid 2020 with a further 40 specialty shops including a Fresh Food Precinct, a Medical Centre and gym.

Design

The architecture of the Port Adelaide Plaza™ shopping centre represents a contemporary interpretation of Port Adelaide, juxtaposed with the amenity and experience required of the modern sub regional shopping centre. Timelessness is crucial to the design, with precise detailing of natural robust materials that invoke a sense of place, identity and pride. This retail experience is specific to this site, and can only occur at Port Adelaide Plaza™ shopping centre. The design of Port Adelaide Plaza™ shopping centre utilizes bold forms, lines and materials to provide unique shopping experiences throughout the site, an inconsistent consistency of sorts.

With over 50 retailers, the provision of memorable experience is crucial to the ongoing success of the centre. Each retailing experience is unique at Port Adelaide Plaza™ shopping centre. The Centre has been designed for the entire community – the shopper, the retailer and also for those simply looking to experience the community. Places have been intertwined into the design to gather, to sit, to watch and to participate. Port Adelaide Plaza™ shopping centre is for everyone.
